Life in the water
The River Severn contains a huge amount of varied life forms – otters, crayfish, voles, fish of many varieties and supports a huge range of life on the riverbank and in its flood plains. It’s hard to see under the water so you will need your imagination to create watery river worlds or glimpses of fleeting life on its banks …..

Tree portraits – 2nd April – 10th April
(book 3 for £90)
Stop painting “landscape filler” and start capturing the monumental life force of the tree. These workshops bridge the gap between logic and soulful expression, giving you the tools to create trees that feel truly alive.
We’ll begin with Leonardo’s Rule of Trees, mastering the mathematical ratios and fractal patterns and learn how masters like Mondrian used these hidden geometries to create balance and recognition, even in abstraction.
Beyond the bark, we’ll also explore the tree as a psychological mirror inspired by Paul Klee.
Water spirits
Across the world, water spirits are symbolic and psychological figures that mediate between humanity and the natural, often chaotic, forces of water. In art history and anthropology, water spirits—such as the African Mami Wata, European Undines, or Slavic Rusalkas—embody themes of fertility, seduction, danger, and the subconscious.
We shall be walking on the wild side in these portrait workshops using a wide range of mixed media – don’t miss them!

River Creatures big, small and mythical
Rivers support a vast array of wildlife, acting as essential habitats for a huge range of mammals, birds, fish, and invertebrates. Mythical river creatures are legendary aquatic beings from global folklore.
In these workshops you will explore your chosen creatures that live above, on or below the surface, or even mythical beings, in the materials of your choice – how about Sabrina herself?
